Asked 7/15/2016 – Dallas, TX
I had received probation for a drug charge. I was appointed a probation officer who is bullying me and talks to me as if I am not human and I want to tell her to stop and respect me. This charge is my first ever in life and it was because I took the blame to help someone else.
Answer
You can tell the probation officer anything you want, but remember this person holds the keys to your prison cell. If you are labeled as a problem probationer, you will have no room for error on any condition of your probation. Miss one meeting, one payment, get behind on community service or fail in any way in any of the conditions of your probation, expect to be re-arrested and be brought before a Judge on a motion to revoke probation. I do not know the particulars of your situation, but you entered the plea. You are considered a criminal, like it or not. I would advise “Yes mam” and “No mam”, but you can bow up if you want to. Good Luck.
