Asked 7/21/2016 – Houston, TX

I was charged with criminal trespassing and I pleaded not guilty in the judge reset the case for three weeks later and asked me the same question how do you play and I pleaded guilty finally and then they released me and said I had time served and never gave me a chance to dismiss the case or anything

Answer

A final conviction was entered on your case when you entered a plea of guilty and given credit for time served to pay the fines and court costs imposed. Final convictions are just that: FINAL. You can request a pardon from the Governor for any type of criminal conviction, ranging from jaywalking to murder. Getting the Governor’s ear, however, is quite a different matter. The time to talk with attorneys was the three weeks between the court settings of your case, not now. You can go on-line and obtain the forms to request the pardon, but don’t get your hopes up.
