I moved out-of-state 2 years ago, and was doing a internet search and found that there is an outstanding warrant for an old ticket.

The ticket is a for “MAINTAIN SUBSTANDARD BLDG” due to a faulty fence on a property that has since been foreclosed and resold.

Can I just pay this ‘ticket’ and the warrant go away? Or do I need to go back to my old state, post bond, and then appear before a judge to get this warrant resolved?

Courts always accept money as a rule. I don’t know the particular rules for the state where your ticket is from, however. In Texas, a class c misdemeanor (ticket) can be paid without the necessity of a personal appearance. Any higher level offense does require the defendant to appear in court. You can call the court in question to see if they will accept your payment to clear the matter or if you need to hire local counsel.
