Asked 6/13/2016 – San Antonio, TX

In the order it says I need to pay a cash bond before I cans start visits with my son. But after my rent, child support, bills, etc. I’m not left with much. Is there any way I can make payment arrangements with the courts? Would I need to set or schedule a court date? Do I have to hire a lawyer? I’m willing to pay but I can’t pay in a lump sum. It’ll take me literally a year to save up that amount on my salary.

Answer

You cannot make payments on a cash bond; it must be paid in full. You may go to court and request a modification of the order, but until that time, the order stands.
