Asked 7/13/17 – Dallas, TX
Almost 6 months ago I got a speeding ticket in McLennan County (TX) and opted for deferred adjudication to erase it. That included a fine, service hours, & defensive driving. About 10 days shy of the end of my probation; I got another speeding ticket in Dallas county. They offered deferred disposition including defensive driving, however I’m not technically supposed to have taken DD within the past 12 months.
What are my options for taking care of the second ticket and how might the first ticket be impacted by the second one?
Answer
Deferred is totally discretionary with the Court, so there is nothing statutory that would prohibit a second deferred disposition. Contact a local attorney for help.
