Car parked at a paid parking, can a police officer issue a ticket for renewing the registration to the owner of the car?

Car registration expired, I dont own it. I am allowed to use it by a court order in a divorce matter. I parked the car at a paid parking.

Answer

If the officer sees you operating the vehicle, you will receive the citation. It is strange. however, for an officer to issue a registration violation to a parked vehicle.
