On probation for 10 yrs for aggravated assault w/deadly weapon (2nd degree felony). Got arrested for 2 more charges. Sat in jail until court date for those 2 felonies….took plea deal for 2yrs for those 2 felonies, some of previous time counts towards it…then state jail came and picked him up and went to the county where he was put on probation…filed Motion to Adjudicate Guilt while he was in county, now filed Proceed to Final Adjudication…..next hearing is a year from now. But I can’t locate him on a jail roster or tdcj. Could he have been released?
Answer
I seriously doubt your friend will be released until all his time is served. I also do not know why it would take a year on a motion to adjudicate, especially after a plea was entered on the new charges. Call the court where his motion to adjudicate was pending and check the status of the case. You can also call the attorney who represented him.
