Asked 4/5/2016 – San Antonio, TX
I was visiting Family in Texas, from Florida, when I got a speeding ticket. The officer told me that I had to change my license to Texas and refused to listen to the fact that I was only visiting. It was reported to Florida that I moved to Texas and now they want to cancel my license there.
Answer
How long were you “visiting”? A change of residence requires you to change your license. Who reported that you moved to Texas? If you paid the Texas speeding ticket, the conviction would be reflected on your Florida driving record, but I don’t know who would tell whom about where you live. You will have to contact a Florida attorney to determine the status of your license there.
