Asked 3/14/2016 – Beaumont, TX

My husband was being held in a county for 2 counts of aggravated assault, but they were going off of hear say and they basically arrested him because of probable cause. He had got into some trouble in his hometown and we bonded him out for that like almost 2 years ago, but he got into trouble again. I think it was burglary of a vehicle! Well the judge revoked his bond because they’re scared for his safety. So, they moved him back to his hometown! Does this mean that the charges from the other county were dropped or what? I called the county he’s in now and when I asked what they were holding him for they didn’t mention the aggravated assault charges! Do I need to contact the other county or?

Answer

No, the charges in the other county are not necessarily dropped, but it is standard procedure that an inmate will not be transferred out of one county until the case pending in that county is resolved. Your husband should know what happened on the new cases, or at the very least, the name of the attorney who was representing him. Contact that attorney.
