My boyfriend was on juvenile parole when he got arrested for a fraud charge. He was given a PR bond but couldn’t be released due to the hold his P.O. put on him. Well he went to court earlier this month a pleaded guilty to the charge. He doesn’t have sentencing for another three weeks, I’m wondering if they can lift the hold before he gets sentenced or not? And if they can’t, how long does it generally take to get it lifted after he’s been sentenced?

When an inmate has pending cases in more than one jurisdiction, he will remain in custody where he is being held until the pending case is totally disposed of, then he will be transferred to the court there the other case is pending. In your boyfriend’s case, it is impossible to know how long the process will take, but the parole hold will not be “lifted”. He will be sentenced on the new charge, then transferred to parole for sentencing on the parole violation. Good luck.
