Asked 3/25/2016 – Rockwall, TX

I am fairly certain that a warrant has been issued for my arrest for criminal trespass (class B). The other person involved received a call from the local Sheriff’s Dept, despite being told a couple months ago that nothing regarding the matter would be pursued by a city detective. How can I find out for certain as well as deal with the warrant without having to be incarcerated? Aside from traffic tickets (nothing over a class C), I’ve never been in trouble with the law before now. If it matters, the detective was with the city, but the “courtesy call” made to my friend was from the county Sheriff department, so maybe the jurisdiction somehow changed? Thank you in advance, – D. H.

Answer

Contact the warrant division of the county Sheriff where you believe the warrant is pending. If the warrant is pending, find a local attorney, who MAY be able to get a bond posted without you having to book into jail.
