I received multiple citations this past weekend which included failure to provide a valid drivers license and expired registration. Per Texas law I understand that you can get these dismissed if you can prove you have a valid license (which I do) and register you car within 20 days of the citation.

I did renew my registration however I sent my father to take care of it for me since I couldn’t leave work. He stated to the tax assessor that I did not receive any citations. What should I do?

The citation was issued in Bexar county and I reside in Nueces county.

You will have to pay more money now. A registration citation can be dismissed for a $20 administrative fee if: 1) you produce proof of valid registration obtained within 20 days from the issuance of the citation, 2) the registration has not been expired for more than 60 days, and 3) when obtaining valid registration, the county tax assessor is paid a late fee (which is about eight dollars). The reason why the clerk asked if you have received a citation is to determine if the late fee should be assessed. and stamped on the registration receipt. Bring the receipt to the court, but you will have to pay some money.
