Asked 8/17/2016 – Arlington, TX

My other half has warrants due to unpaid speeding tickets, driving without a license, and driving without insurance. Can we do a payment plan or must we come up with $1100 all at once? He lost his ID when we moved, and until this is resolved, we can’t get him a new one without being deceptive. Please advise. We are in Tarrant County, TX.

Answer

You can pay the fines or enter into a payment plan, but if you do, convictions will be entered on these cases and may cause your husband’s license to be suspended. Contact an attorney in the Metroplex area who can post bonds to remove the warrants, set the cases for court, then hopefully reduce the amount you will have to pay and keep these matters from becoming convictions.
