How long do they have to indict on a family violence Charge? They have enhanced it, and also put mtr in affect.

Court date is set for October. They can’t get a hold of the accusing victim… Please help me to understand.

Answer

The statute of limitations for a felony assault case is 3 years; the State has 3 years from the date of the alleged offense to file the indictment against the defendant.
