How long to get gun back in Texas?

My mom was charged with assault w/weapon. The detective confiscated the gun. Now the charges have been dropped and the detective keeps giving us a run around on when we can get the gun back. When can we get the gun back?

Answer

If charges were ever field, you may go to the court where the case was pending and the Judge can sign an order for the release of the property. If no criminal charges were ever filed, you may have to contact a local attorney to find out what’s going on and how get your property back.
