Asked 4/11/2016 – Corpus Christi, TX

my son is 15 and is being charged with two charges of burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest….he has never been in trouble before and he did admitted to doing it…..he is in juvenile right now and they are telling me that they will give him a lawyer

Answer

The rules for juvenile court are different that the rules for criminal procedure. Your son will remain in detention (there is not a bond like in criminal cases), but will have a detention hearing every other week or so to determine if he should remain in custody. It can be a confusing process, so you may want to contact a private attorney for your own peace of mind.
