How many PR bonds can and inmate get?

Asked 8/27/2016 – Mineral Wells, TX

My husband was charged with family domestic violence on April 2nd, 2015 he served 103 days in county jail and was released on a PR bond. A little over a year later on April 27th, 2016 he was arrested for a couple misdemeanors which have been dismissed but yet he’s still in there and it’s been over 4months now! Could he get out on another PR bond?

Answer

It is discretionary with the Judge setting the bond about whether to grant a personal recognizance bond in any given case. There is no statutory limit on the number of bonds that can be granted.
