In 2012 I paid an attorney to handle an old 2004 traffic ticket for me. Right after filing paperwork on my ticket with the courts, he upped and disappeared. After going research on him, he had multiple new complaints and had just been reprimanded by the state and formally resigned before being disbarred. Fast forward to today…the same ticket has now popped back up and no other attorney can touch it bc his name is still on it. Besides paying out the wazoo got the now 13 yrs old ticket, how can I get this ticket resolved?

A new attorney can file a motion to substitute counsel, which will remove the old attorney from the case, and your new attorney can then work on resolving your case. Call an attorney in the county where the ticket is filed.
