Asked 8/12/2016 – Addison, TX

The judge told me to be familiar with the State Discovery Laws. I obtained all the tickets the officer gave at the intersection I was ticketed. (Running stop sign). I want to summarize that data and share with the jury. Do I have to provide that data to the prosecuting attorney even though the court gave them to me?

Answer

You will not have to share the data you speak of with the city attorney, but you might want to become familiar with the Rules of Evidence to give yourself a chance at getting this material into evidence at trial.
