Asked 6/17/2016 – Dallas, TX

My husband is in jail for violation of probation he took a plea of 3 years ran concurrent the judge granted him with 29 months jail credit from all his back time what does all this means like how long will he be sending in jail for.

Answer

The maximum time remaining on your husband’s sentence is 7 months (36 month sentence less 29 months back time credit). Once he is transferred to the Department of Corrections, he will be given an estimated release date, which may give additional credit for good time and move up his release date.
