I was given ticket for class c misdemeanors theft, it is more likely to be dismissed or differed, should I worry about showing on background check? Since I am recent graduate student and looking for a career in IT field as a developer or system admin

Answer

This is a crime of moral turpitude, so take this matter very seriously. I am not sure why you think it would be dismissed, but you definitely need to make sure no conviction is entered in this case. Retain a local attorney or contact the court and plead not guilty to set this matter on the court’s contested docket.
