Asked 6/29/17 – Dallas, TX

My charge is credit card abuse. I will be finished once I pay my fines. And if it asked if I had a conviction I said no is that correct to do? I believe if it specifically ask if on deferred or am on probation I say yes correct and say for what.

Answer

Deferred adjudication is not a conviction but it is a type of probation. Deferred adjudication probation will also show up on a standard background check. If you successfully complete the probation and the case is dismissed, contact a local attorney about filling a petition for non-disclosure.
