My friend got himself into some trouble with on of his girlfriends. She and three of their friends (excluding him) went into her mom’s house and took some valuables out of her mom’s safe. It happed twice and both times he was not around and had no knowledge of what was happening. One morning he’s friend asked for a ride to the pawn shop and when they got there his friend asked him to take somethings in with him. When they brung the valuables in, shortly after the cops showed up. Later on during the investigation they found out that the detective over the case is good buddies with my friends girls mom and dad. Now he’s trying to get her off the hook and make everyone else take the fall for it. He’s a detective and none of them want to do anything because they think it’ll make everything worse. What’s the best way to handle this situation
Answer
Your friend needs to worry about her case and not be concerned about what detective’s friend sister, brother, daughter, cousin deal or conflict of interest exist. She is involved and from the facts you describe, there is enough evidence to pursue criminal charges against her. This will not go away by questioning the detective. Talk with a local attorney IMMEDIATELY.
