The grill was arrested for shoplifting she then bit a security guard which enhance tattoo robbery her bond was set at $5,000 I was wondering if in a surety bond has to be a cash Bond or tenant be paid by the defendant to the court and if the case is dismissed they would be allowed to get the money back and could she ask for only continent Bond
Answer
If a cash bond is posted on a criminal case, the money deposited with the court will be returned when the matter is finalized. If the case is dismissed, the full sum (generally minus a transaction fee) will be returned; if fines and costs are entered, usually the cash bond can be applied to pay the sums owed. A surety bond is posted by a bond company or an attorney licensed to post bonds. The bond company charges a percentage of the bond as a premium. You would NOT get that money back, regardless of the outcome of the case. A personal recognizance (PR) bond may be authorized by the court which will not cost any money to post, but you will probably have to retain an attorney to approach the Judge and make the request.
