Asked 1/30/2016 – San Antonio, TX

I have traffic tickets my license is suspended. Is there statue of limitation on my tickets it has been 10-15years ago?

Answer

The statute of limitations is tolled when a complaint is filed with the court. You might have been issued the ticket 10 to 15 years ago, but if everything was filed by the State properly within the 2 years statute of limitations for misdemeanors, the warrant can remain outstanding indefinitely. There may be other legal issues, however, so contact an attorney in the city where the tickets were issued.
