Asked 1/28/2016 – Dallas, TX

He basically went to the next street over and threw a brick in a window (he did not enter the home or even come close to entering and nothing was taken) He was not in the right mind state, he has a lot of medical issues.

He went to jail in county a in November and they couldnt make a decision on the motion to revoke hearing so they got county b to come and get him right after Christmas.
It is now Jan 27th.

His “status conference” was yesterday and we have heard nothing from the attorney on what went on and the district clerk told me over the phone that there was nothing on the roster saying it was cancelled or any other court dates.
The attorney went to see my husband 2 weeks ago and basically told him he had not even read the police report yet and didnt know much on his case and that he would come and see him before the hearing and never did.
Why have we not heard anything at all about the conference? Also could county b get this reduced to a misd? And potentially combine probation for both?

County B will not have much to do with county A and vice versa. If you have the same attorney for both cases, an attempt will be made to run both cases concurrently with the same sentence. None of us can tell you what went on in a status conference or what the schedule your attorney has which would prevent contact with you. I suggest that 1) your husband give the attorney written permission to speak with you about the case, and 2) you do not wait on a phone call or just call yourself. Make and appointment with the attorney. Ask to see the discovery that has been tendered by the DA. See if there has been a plea offer made and when the next setting is. If you can’t communicate with or trust your
