If I pay my ticket online is that the end of it? Or is there more to it?

If you pay the fine on a traffic citation, be it on-line, through the mail, or in person, the matter will be closed. A judgment of guilty will be entered and a conviction will be reported to the Department of Public Safety. Talk with a local attorney if you want to see if a conviction can be avoided.
