Asked 2/4/2016 – Temple, TX

I am on probation for a felony for five years. I moved to Texas legally and currently have a probation officer here. I received a speeding ticket in a school zone. I’m supposed to report in run ins with the law at probation date. Should I report to her early or can I wait? Also does this affect my chances of getting of early? My game plan is to take drver defense course asap.

Answer

Tell your probation officer about receiving the ticket. Make sure your PO has no issue about your taking the defensive driving course to resolve the matter. If there is an issue, contact a local attorney to see about contesting the citation.
