Asked 5/4/2016 – Austin, TX

I had sold beer to a minor back this year in January. Administrative Notice was issued and fast forward to April the store is fined $2400 and about me (employee) their saying they’re forwarding my case to County. What does that mean? Am I in trouble? What’s going to happen? What are my options? Any help is welcome

Answer

Please see Texas Alcohol and Beverage Code Section 106.03 – Sale of Alcohol to Minors. This is a class a misdemeanor, punishable by confinement in jail for up to one year and up to a $4,000 fine. Speak with a local attorney soon.
