I was arrested twice in what I call my worst summer ever!
1st Arrest – A group of us , teenagers at the time (I was 17) were walking late at night near an industrial facility. We were not doing anything wrong but one of my friends had a spray can. We didn’t do any graffiti but I’m sure that was his idea. We were stopped by police and taken to PD since we were underage and had a spray can. We were all finger printed and had our moms pick us up. Never charged with anything.
2nd Arrest – 3 months later (18 yrs old now) after my first arrest we were stopped for being in a stolen car. Nobody knew the car was stolen, in fact it wasn’t actually stolen. Long story short, the car was taken by a friend of a friends from his grandma without permission and she claimed it stolen that night. We were all released hours after the guy driving told PD that it was his and we had nothing to do with it. Eventually that guy was not charged either because of grandma.
I have contacted county clerk and I was told there is no record of my disposition for the car theft arrest. I don’t know what to do. I want to get my conceal handgun license but I need records of my record/disposition
Answer
If no charges were filed, the court clerk will not have records of either event. Go to the police department(s) that made the arrests. Request the arrest/incident reports. If the statute of limitations has run, you may file a petition for expunction on these matters
