Asked 5/18/2016 – Waco, TX

My 20 year old son in college got a speeding ticket in Waco on I35 by a state trooper. He said he clocked him at 90 in a 65. My son and his 2 football teammates swear that they were going with the flow of the traffic and couldn’t have been going that fast. I don’t know but I need to see what can be done because he got his very first speeding ticket a few months ago. He completed defensive driving for that one though. We’re still waiting for the certificate to arrive in the mail so we can get it to the Beverly Hills Police Department for dismissal.

Answer

You will need to talk with a local attorney to see if anything can be done to keep this ticket from appearing on your son’s driving record. No one can predict what any lawyer will be able to do in this situation, but I do know that if the fine is just paid without making other arrangements, a conviction will be reported.
