What can I do to push my court date so I can pay my lawyer to start on the case?

I was just released on bond for evading arrest with MV (as deadly weapon) no one was injured. I have a court date in a week but I was going to hire a lawyer… what can I do to push my court date so I can pay my lawyer to start on the case in Dallas County?
