What can I do when the country court clerk’s office will not give me a letter stating there is no record found.

I applied for a real estate license and submitted a background check. An arrest came out from 1985 in which I was a minor for a misdemeanor. They are asking for the records and an explanation. The court could not find a record and will not supply me with a letter. The state wants the letter.

Answer

If a case was not filed against you, court clerks will not have any record of your arrest. Contact the arresting agency. You may also want to contact a local attorney regarding an expunction of the arrest record.
