What does a summons hearing usually mean?

He’s on parole and has a couple dirty UAs and was dropped from a class he was supposed to attend once a week..his parole officer came by the house to drop off a card to schedule a summons hearing. Does this mean he’ll be violated and would hiring a lawyer help in anyway? TIA.

Answer

His parole officer is preparing the paperwork and process to revoke his parole. Yes, you should retain an attorney.
