My uncle’s paper says he’s being charged with “capital murder-other felonies” I’m just trying to figure out what they mean by other felonies

Answer

Capital Murder is defined in Texas Penal Code Section 19.03. One of the grounds which can elevate a murder case to a capital murder (and subject the defendant to the death penalty), is if the murder is committed while committing or attempting to commit certain other felonies (Section19.03(a)(2)) . What you are looking at, however, is probably short hand nomenclature used by the local clerk’s office, so you should check with your uncle’s attorney to make sure exactly what the allegations against him are.
