My daughters were caught stealing, the store keeps sending civil demand letters, I have decided to ignore them, I am afraid of being sued should I send a letter as to why I’m not responding or call? The store is Wal-Mart by the way

You will probably continue to receive civil demand letters; you should continue to ignore the demands. YOU will not be sued. Depending on their ages, your daughters CAN have a civil suit filed against them, but I have been practicing law for 34 years, and I have heard of only one such suit ever have being filed; Walmart is hoping you just send a check. Calling or writing the collection firm will not change a thing.
