Asked 8/30/2016 – Houston, TX

A friend of mine was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for prostitution, she was released on bail, and then she never showed up to court and left the state. What would be the required steps to take care of this issue?

Answer

If your friend failed to appear in court, a warrant is probably outstanding for her arrest. It will remain outstanding until she is taken into custody. Contact an attorney in the Houston area who can arrange the logistics of appearing and court and resolving this matter if and when your friend returns to Texas.
