Asked 5/12/2016 – Plano, TX

I contracted with a move company for a crew of 4 and same day delivery. For the greater part of the day only one person was there. When they sent reinforcement in the evening they couldn’t complete and deliver same day. Too late. In addition they want to charge extra hours despite clearly bridging the contract and despite assurances in writing they have done this tones of times and 12 hours is more than enough. They have not even finished packing at the original residence. We told them we are not paying over time so they left with our belongings.

Answer

You have 2 issues. There is a civil breach of contract matter about what was agreed to, what was delivered, and what is to be paid. Regardless of that matter, if some of your belongings were taken, that is a criminal theft matter. List the items taken, their approximate value, then contact your local police department.
