A friend of my fathers came to stay with us along with his wife. A couple of days before they went to the bank and withdrew a lump some of cash in which was told to my father. The day before they left to come back home they stated all their money was there and the next morning they were missing a partial amount. That night after coming home I walked in the kitchen to throw trash away and my dads friend was talking to his wife in the living room where they slept on an air mattress. After heading through the formal living room and dinning room to the Kitchen to throw my container away and get water. My dads friend called my dads name thinking it was him when it wasnt. I peeked my head in the room and stated who it was. To make a long story short I am being accused of taking something I did not take and my dads friend is threatening to file charges. I have reached out numerous times and still no answer from him after he sent me certified letter to reach out to him.

Answer

Bring the certified letter to an attorney and let him/her review it and decide how to respond. It does not sound like the police have become involved yet, and hopefully it stays that way. If you are contacted by the police, do NOT give any statement before talking with an attorney.
