My boyfriend caught a drug charge for meth more than 4 less than 200 he has no bond and is on parole he had 1 year left His parole officer came to see him and said they will wait 60 days before they make a decision and we are not sure why the DA put 25 to life what should we expect

Answer

It sounds like the DA has enhanced the charges pending against your boyfriend due to prior his felony convictions (see Texas Penal Code Section 12.42). It can be assumed the decision to enhance the charges was made in order to increase the potential punishment range your boyfriend is facing and put him in prison for a longer period of time.
