Son transfer to Florida after completing time in Texas.
Son served 17 months of 3 yrs sentence for credit card fraud in FL, was let out on probation 3 -4 yrs ago. Got into trouble here in Texas for fraud of services and last 45 days of 9 month sentence. Then he goes to Houston for charges where he used his brothers name at a traffic stop- ticket for speeding I think. Did not present ID.
He paid almost all of his fees ( plus a LOT more for paying late time and time again) and then was arrested here.
Answer
If Florida has an outstanding hold on your son, he SHOULD be given credit for the time he serves in Texas against any sentence he receives in Florida. The actual time he will serve depends on several factors that I can’t answer (good time credit, the Florida statute he was convicted of, etc.). Once he is transferred, he will be appointed an attorney. Contact that attorney to get more details about his release date.
