Asked 4/23/2016 – Gonzales, TX

I’m on deferred adjudication probation for four years I have one year left. I just received misdemeanor one for invalid license due to me not paying my surcharge on time and the other one possession of controlled substance I had trimodal medicine in my purse the bottle had broken, so it was not in the prescription bottle I have a paper copy of the prescription.

Answer

1) Retain a local attorney IMMEDIATELY. 2) Provide a copy of the prescription for the substance found in your purse to that attorney so it can be presented to the District Attorney and avoid the filing of a case on the possession of controlled substance. 3) Get your license cleared with the Department of Public Safety; what you paid in bonds is probably more than your 3 years worth of surcharges. You are on felony probation and can’t afford any screw ups. If you have to, borrow the money from family to pay all fees owed to the DPS and remove the possibility of a DWLI ending up sending you to prison.
