Asked 4/23/2016 – Amarillo, TX

My husband is in Texas TDCJ unit. He has been in there for two years. He comes up for parole every year. In ’86, he went for armed robbery with a deadly weapon. In ’87, a penal escape. In 2009 he made parole and lived a ankle monitor down. In 2013 he went back to prison for absconding. Will he ever make parole? His projected release date is 2026. He had no new charges tacked on just absconding.

Answer

Every case is different, but with the history you describe, I would doubt the Parole Board would consider your husband a good candidate for parole. He is a repeat offender of violent offenses, and he was given a previous chance at parole which he failed. I would not get my hopes up if I were you.
