Asked 3/31/2016 – Weatherford, TX

i got arrested at the board of entry in Nov 2015 for a Class C misdemeanor for theft back in April 2014 (didn’t steal anything, was charged for that for giving out an unlawfully discount). i never got a warrant for my arrest notice so i didn’t even know i had the warrant. i got detained, did some jail time and then got bonded out for $1,500 that was paid in full. i have gone to both court houses in the city the situation happened, in both courts i don’t appear in the system, but i went to Police dept. and they give me records of my arrest and everything that happened. im confused why im not in the system, iv tried everything possible to fix and take care of my situation. i don’t want the judge or any court of law to think i want to miss my court date. Will i have a court date? its been 4 months almost 5 since i got arrested does it take long for them to review my case? what can i do? im even scared to go to Mexico now because i think on my way back ill get detained again on the border. i have never been in trouble before.

Answer

You are in the system SOMEWHERE or you would not have been detained and had to post a bond. The copy of the bond you posted should have contained information on where to appear; if you used a bond company, that bond company would have received notice of where and when to appear. Start with the paperwork you received at the time of the original incident. Get that and all the bond paperwork and confer with a local attorney. This is out there somewhere, so find somebody who can help you find where to look.
