Asked 3/25/2016 – Plano, TX

I was charged a Class B Misdemeanor for handling stolen goods in February 2011. I paid to get it sealed soon after. It’s been sealed since then. I recently decided to apply for a Texas Concealed Carry License.
I read that after 5 years the Class B misdemeanor won’t disqualify me.

Answer

When you say it was sealed, was an order of non-disclosure entered or were you a juvenile? In any event, file the application; the list of offenses that will prohibit you from obtaining your CHL will be available on the site where you obtain your application.
